La Quinta, Benahavis
| AREA GUIDESLa Quinta extends to the north of Puerto Banús and to the west of Nueva Andalucía, where the municipality of Benahavis begins. It is a quiet and exclusive area nestled in a protected natural environment just 10 minutes from the coast.
La Quinta is a residential complex that offers a large selection of urbanization which generally are calm and low-density. Their homes range from apartments and penthouses to cosy townhouses and sumptuous private villas. Most of them face the golf course, with beautiful open views of the natural lake that it houses, the mountains and the sea.
Those that enjoy these spectacular apartments for sale in La Quinta illustrate these landscapes very well. The properties of the complex Lomas de La Quinta also stand out for their horizons, surrounded by exotic gardens in wild nature.
La Quinta Golf & Country Club is the golf course that dominates the area and gives its name to the residential. Rated as one of the best on the Costa del Sol, it usually hosts international competitions. Its facilities play a very important role and make the centre a meeting point for nearby neighbours. Among them, we find shops, a golf academy or a restaurant with magnificent terraces.
Adjacent to the golf course is based The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa. This resort is a five-star hotel that ranks among the top five in the region. It has its own gym, spa, beauty treatments, children’s club, gourmet restaurants and swimming pools. This has made it easier for very significant personalities to stay here, even becoming the headquarters of some elite football teams in preseason. Opposite this excellent hotel are located El Herrojo urbanisation and its impressive contemporary-style villas.
When it comes to settling down as a family, this area offers a great selection of bilingual schools. One of the most reputed for quality training is Aloha College. It is situated a few kilometres away and provides an international education. Atalaya de Estepona College is another one that we must highlight. Positioned just a short drive from the complex and with first-rate facilities, it presents academic excellence in both English and Spanish. Laude San Pedro International College, Colegio San José Guadalmina or Swans International School are other renowned centres in this district.
As regards access to the beach, the famous Golf Valley of Nueva Andalucía leads us to the paradisiacal beaches of Puerto Banús in about 10 minutes. Additionally, we can go down the MA-547 to San Pedro de Alcántara. Taking the Autovía del Mediterráneo from here, we will reach some of what are considered the best beaches in Marbella. For example, Bounty Beach, Playa del Alicate or La Playa de Artola in Cabopino. In some of them, you will find the best-known beach clubs on the Costa del Sol.
If one of your leisure options is shopping, in Puerto Banús we find boutique-style shops of the most select brands. Furthermore, a wide variety of shopping centres surround the area.
For nature lovers, the La Quinta reservoir is a perfect rural retreat for walks. Here there is a water spring without any noise apart from the singing of the birds, ideal to clear ourselves from the day-to-day. To access the reservoir we must wind through some hills and walk to the bridge that crosses it. From there you can see the water passing through the dam, while children can play around.
Wrapped by the mountains of Sierra Blanca and the Mediterranean Sea, La Quinta is clearly one of the best places to live in Europe. A consolidated district in a unique ecosystem of the Costa del Sol which is constantly growing. It is surrounded by very exclusive spots such as La Heredia, Monte Halcones or La Alborada. In this last sector, there are several newly built housing complexes with open views. A shining example is the development BYU Hills, with panoramic ocean and mountain views.
